RC Wasserburg Container of School Furniture

Rotary Club Wasserburg is an old partner and supporter of JLSS. Among its many projects, with other Rotary Clubs mainly Beirut Cosmopolitan, is the CNC machine which was purchased for the Industrial Mechanics department, the Solar Water-heating Systems in two of our buildings, heavy duty kitchen equipment, and the sophisticated electrical equipment for our Electrical workshop. The electrical equipment will enable us to start teaching DS Industrial Electricity in our vocational school.
RC Wasserburg had an additional surprise for us this summer. School equipment from four schools in Germany were collected and sent in a 40 foot container to JLSS which arrived on 3 October 2012. The shipment included student desks and chairs, computer desks, blackboards, sports equipment, hangers for clothes, maps and a map stand, and books. The student chairs and desks are of various sizes covering all age groups. This shipment will transform our classrooms. The very old classroom furniture will be replaced with German furniture of excellent quality in a very good condition. The teaching environment in our school will be enormously enhanced through this equipment. Our students and teachers are most grateful for this wonderful donation.
Once the Rotary school furniture replaces our old and battered antiques, it will be like touching our classes with a magic wand transforming them thirty to forty years from the distant past to the 21st century.
