GTZ Visit to JLSS

A group from GTZ (Deutsche Gesellschaft für Technische Zusammenarbeit) visited our school on Friday 16 February 2007. The group included Her Excellency Mrs. Iris Hoffmann, member of the German Bundestages, Dr. Michael Guder, Head of the GTZ Program in Lebanon, Mrs. Isabel Mattes-Kuecuekali, GTZ Director for Mediterranean Countries and the Middle East, Dr. Magdy Menshawy, Head of Regional Projects in Mediterranean Countries and the Middle East, Mrs. Nasr of GTZ Lebanon, and Mr. Hans-Helge Sander, First Secretary Head of Press and Cultural Department of the German Embassy in Lebanon. The group visited the girls boarding homes, our bakery, the industrial mechanics' workshop, and our car mechanics' workshop. GTZ generously helped us with the building, renovation, or restructuring of all those very important departments of our school. We also discussed our plan to start the dual system in the teaching program of our school next year. To that purpose other meetings are planned with GTZ Lebanon to help us with this very important development in the program of our school. We highly appreciate the wonderful support we receive from GTZ and we thank the GTZ group for their visit.
